Two Ways to Seamlessly Style the Jodhpur Boots by Beckett Simonon
Fall is inbound my friends! That means you might be struggling to choose a new pair of boots to get you through the season. There are tons of trends and styles that can make it overwhelming. Or, maybe you just need a pair that is going to take you from the cubicle to the clubs, (or you know… day to night).
THE CATCH IS THAT YOU DON’T WANT TO BE FORCED TO BUY NEW CLOTHES TO MATCH, RIGHT?
Don’t worry just yet, I’ve got a quick solution for you that won’t make you change up any of the clothes already in your closet.
I’m sharing two easy ways to style the black leather Jodhpur Boots from Beckett Simonon!
SWITCH UP YOUR STYLE - TRY A JODHPUR BOOT.
The Jodhpur style has gained a lot of popularity recently. They’re definitely a dressier, fashion forward boot. I find them to be a little fancier than a Chelsea boot; more like the Chelsea’s best friend who spent a semester abroad but came back without that pretentious accent. They bring an elevated feel to your outfit with an elegant touch. I might even put them ahead in the Jodhpur vs. Chelsea match up.
If you just got comfortable with even wearing a boot named Chelsea, this could be a big step. The leather strap and buckle aren’t your ordinary details. If you’re looking to break your own mold and decide to rock them, you’re going to earn yourself some compliments. To show you how easily they’ll step into your wardrobe, the two outfits I’ve put together won’t make you feel like you’re long jumping way over your comfort zone.

HOW DO YOU MAKE THESE BOOTS WORK?
START WITH JODHPUR BOOTS AT THE OFFICE:
It’s the place you most likely have to go every day and you can start by slipping them into your rotation one day a week. That’s a pretty low-pressure commitment.
PLUS - JODHPUR BOOTS ARE SO SLEEK FOR WORK!
They add something unexpected to your office wear by simply not being your everyday dress shoe. The way they disappear under the leg of your pants leaves a little bit of cool mystery and also allows for some forgiveness in your trouser tailoring. Making this switch instantly sets your look apart.
The added strap and buckle details actually create a perfect double-take moment when they peak out, like when you’re sitting or striking a power pose (aka photo on your left). In other words, your new boots are going to get some looks, followed by those compliments I already mentioned.
DON’T SWEAT IT!
Styling Jodhpur boots for the office really doesn’t take much work. They fit right in with a simple white shirt and grey trousers. Though they’re not ordinary, they’ll function just like your go-to black dress shoes. You don’t have to change anything about what you’re already wearing to make these work for you. These boots pack personality and all you have to do is put them on!
I chose to do trousers with an orange window pane in order to bring some contrast between the Jodhpur boot and the pants. The overall dark grey color of them would otherwise start to blend. The color also brings your eyes down to the Jodhpurs, which helps highlight their uniqueness. I mean, you did look at the boots in the photo, right?
IF YOU’RE COMMITTED TO ROCKING THEM, YOU MIGHT AS WELL MAKE THEM SEEN!
You can consider your office boot game crushed if you choose to make these a part of your collection.
THE OUTFIT DETAILS
I specifically chose this textured button-up from Nifty Genius to add a little more detail. You’ll see it when you hit that link and get a closer look. However, any white collared shirt should work for you!
The trousers are from Mango Man. They’re currently sold out, but you can find plenty of great trousers on their site. Or, go ahead and pair these with the grey slacks you already own as we talked about! You can even sub in some chinos if you don’t have a pair of dress pants that you like.
WHERE’S THE VALUE IN BOLD STYLE?
THERE’S VALUE IN VERSATILITY - WEAR JODHPURS CASUALLY TOO:
Bolder style choices often beg the question of value. You might be asking yourself if these are going to be worth it. Well, Jodhpur boots definitely bring that versatility to the table, which is where I find their value.
Jodhpur boots can easily go more casual. I promise you that you won’t be leaving these at the office.
I again paired the boots with an outfit you probably already have in your closet. Oh wait, that’s the theme!
Whether it’s date night or a night out, grab your favorite pair of jeans and button-up. You’re using the boots’ superpower again! They’re going to punch up that personality and style of a look you’ve worn many times before.

YOU CAN ADD SOME FUN TOUCHES!
Since we’re going more casual, don’t be afraid to wear a little more color than you did at the office. The pink shirt here provides some additional contrast that breaks up the outfit in a refreshing way.
When going more casual, I always suggest cuffing your denim to really let these boots shine! If you’ve got a slim pair of denim, break them out for this look as well. Doing so exposes the strap and shows off what makes these boots different. That’s why you got them in the first place. It’s undoubtedly the best way to wear boots and denim!
THE OUTFIT DETAILS
I chose this pink shirt from Under 5’10 with a contrasting sailor stripe shirt from Ricky &
Micky to play on the colors and create some more visual interest. With a bold boot, it also balances out the top and bottom of your look. You can choose any button down and tee combo in your closet to make this work. If you’re not sure on the graphic or pattern tee, opt for a nice plain white (or really any solid color) tee. The key is to make sure it’s not wrinkled if you’re going to keep everything unbuttoned for the super casual, but refined and put together look.
TURNS OUT YOU CAN MAKE THESE WORK.
Colder weather is no excuse to slack on your boot game. In fact, take this as an opportunity to try something new. The Jodhpur boots may seem like a stretch at first, but they can totally feel right at home in your closet. As you can see, it actually doesn’t take much effort to sub them into outfits that you regularly wear.
